A swift response to an alarm activation can dramatically change the outcome of an intruder incident at your property. Having an ECHO-connected intruder alarm will ensure the quickest police response time.

What is ECHO-connected?

ECHO is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers automated alarm signalling and messaging between alarm receiving centres (ARCs) and blue light services, speeding up the time for emergency services to respond.

In the event of a confirmed alarm activation, an ECHO-connected device uses a fast and robust connection to alert the police via secure police-preferred networks. The automated signal transmission is sent direct from the approved ARC to the control room of the ECHO-connected UK police force, facilitating a rapid response.

The automated service removes the need for human intervention and speeds up the alarm notification. Police estimates indicate a saving of up to four minutes in response times, which could prove critical in an emergency.

There are currently 11 ECHO-connected police forces in the UK, offering homeowners and commercial property owners greater assurance with speedier and more effective police response. Other police forces are testing the scheme and are due to come on board soon.

How do you get an ECHO-connected intruder alarm?

Only certificated intruder alarm systems provided by approved installers (NSI or SSAIB approved) can deliver the ECHO-connected service. As an NSI-approved installer, Tamar Security is authorised to install ECHO-connected intruder alarms.
